Manchester, also sometimes referred as the “Capital of the North” has a cosmopolitan and highly electric environment. As it is famous for its universities, students from different parts of the world add color and life to the nights here. It has everything that any person can ever ask for from cheap curries in Rusholme to The gay village and many trendy bars.
The Manchester Academy is rated among the best venues in the city. There are gigs of various sizes with electric atmosphere almost everywhere. The Academy has 3 main halls and is known for a large number of musical bands.
Another cool place for Jazz lovers in the city is Matt & Phreds Jazz Club. Characterized by friendly staff and dark environment, it serves the best pizza probably in the whole of Manchester. The lows of this place are that drinks here are slightly over-priced and it doesn’t operate on Sundays.
5th Avenue is the favorite place of students in the city because it is the cheapest on weekdays. The dance floor is really busy as students keep swinging all the night. The bar upstairs has excellent and very cheap drinks.
42nd Street is one of the most challenging pubs to locate in the city, but once located, it has dazzling environment. The dance floor is mostly packed with students and the drinks are at affordable prices. All in all, much fun at nearly no cost.
A few other places to mention are Walkabout, which is part of a chain but has 3 floors ranging from Cheese to Dance and RnB, M2 which is very much Dance/RnB. The last place i think needs a mention is the famous Sankeys, this is slightly outside the town centre but is by far the most famous venue within Manchester with Clubbers/Ravers
An all packed student crowd can be seen in the city and hence the prices well within the reach of any common man. There is a pride in the people which rightly says, "And on the seventh day God created Manchester"
